Records Management II Organisations face increasing pressure to manage their records according to statutory and business requirements. As the use of electronic records and the deployment of electronic document and records management systems continue to increase, the core skills of the person responsible for records management become ever more important to the organisation. This course will examine how to implement good records management practice. Led by an internationally recognised expert in records management, Philip Jones, this introductory / intermediate level session will provide a grounding in the fundamentals of records management.
Delegates are encouraged to share their own experiences at the Workshop. The day will be a mixture of presentation and practical exercises. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions.
Philip has been involved with record and document standards for over ten years and is a co-editor of ISO 15489 International Records Management Standard. He is Chairman of the BSI Archives & Records Management Committee and is the author of BIP 0025-3, part of the BSI Effective Records Management series, a publication dealing with performance management within record management programmes. Amongst his other professional activities, Philip has served as Director and then Chairman of the Records Management Society. He is currently President of the International Records Management Council. Philip was voted UK Records Manager of the Year 2000.
